Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, have been making headlines amid speculation about trouble in their marriage. The couple, who have been together for 37 years, recently found themselves at the center of divorce rumours. In a 1990 interview, Govinda had admitted that his horoscope had predicted the possibility of a second marriage.  

When Govinda said his horoscope says he would marry twice

In a conversation with Stardust Magazine back in 1990, Govinda shared that his birth chart indicated he would marry twice. He openly expressed his feelings for his co-stars and even mentioned that if a second marriage were to happen, Sunita would need to be ready for it. 

“Tomorrow, who knows, I may get involved again, and maybe I will marry the girl I get involved with. But Sunita should be prepared for it. Only then will I feel free. And there is a second marriage in my kundali," Govinda had said. The actor also admitted that he was in love with Neelam Kothari but went ahead with his marriage to Sunita because he had already given her his word. 

Govinda praises Divya Bharti

During the same interview, Govinda spoke about his admiration for some of his leading ladies, including Juhi Chawla and Divya Bharti. Speaking about Divya, who was just 17 at the time, he remarked, “Well I am a firm believer of destiny. What has to happen, will happen. Yes, I like Juhi a lot. Even Divya Bharti. Divya is a very sensuous girl. It’s difficult for a man to resist her. I know Sunita is going to be very upset with all this. But she should know that I am still resisting Divya’s charms. I haven’t given into the temptation as yet.” 

Govinda's lawyer on divorce rumours

Meanwhile, Govinda’s lawyer acknowledged that Sunita did file for divorce six months ago, but the couple has since resolved their differences. He told India Today, “We also travelled to Nepal during the New Year and performed puja together at Pashupatinath Mandir. Everything is fine between them now. Such things keep happening between couples, but they are going strong and will always be together.”   

Govinda and Sunita have been together for 37 years and have two children, a daughter Tina and a son Yashvardhan.
