Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bengaluru took a massive step toward their first-ever IPL title after demolishing Punjab Kings by 8 wickets in Qualifier 1 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, on Thursday. With this dominant victory, RCB secured their fourth final appearance, and their first in nine years.

Punjab Kings collapsed for a paltry 101 in just 14.1 overs. In response, RCB chased down the target in only 10 overs, with opener Phil Salt smashing an unbeaten 56 to seal the deal in style.

While RCB have booked their spot in the final, all is not lost for Punjab. They’ll get one more shot at redemption in Qualifier 2, where they’ll face the winner of the Eliminator between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans.
