Vijay Sethupathi Couldn't Talk To His School Crush; Reveals She Loved His Jawan Co-star Shah Rukh Khan
Atlee recalled taking a picture in front of Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat home in Mumbai over a decade ago.
New Delhi: The cast of the upcoming movie 'Jawan' kicked off promotions with a grand pre-release event hosted at Chennai's Sri Sairam Engineering College ahead of the movie's September 7 release. Atlee, the Jawan director, and Vijay Sethupathi, Shah Rukh Khan's co-star, all expressed their love for the actor during the event. Furthermore, Sethupathi shared a fascinating personal story about him.
in 'Jawan', Vijay Sethupathi, who plays the bad guy, recounted an amusing story about something that happened to him in school. He recalled how a girl he had a crush on was so captivated by SRK that he was unable to approach her.
“When I was in school, I was in love with a girl. But she didn’t know. Every Jaanu has a Ram after all (reference to his 2018 film ’96). But that girl was in love with SRK. It has taken these many years to have my revenge,” the actor said.
After that story, Vijay received a witty response from Shah Rukh. “Everyone here spoke in Tamil and I am sure they all spoke good things about me. Except for Vijay Sethupathi, who was talking about a girl. Let me tell you one thing sir, you can have your revenge but not my girls. They are mine,” SRK said.
Atlee also told an interesting tale about Shah Rukh Khan during the event. He recalled taking a picture in front of SRK's Mannat home in Mumbai over a decade ago. Years later, by a stroke of luck, he approached the 'Jawan' actor and the gates of Mannat opened for him.
“I will tell you a story. When I was working with director Shankar for Enthiran in Mumbai. I was told by my friend that we are shooting outside SRK’s house. He asked me to pose in front of the gate for a pic. After 13 years, the same gate opened and King Khan himself went, ‘Welcome, Atlee sir’, ” he said.
Other notable actors in Jawan who play major roles besides Shah Rukh Khan include Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, and Yogi Babu.
