'Conspiracy To Kill Me': BJP MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar On BJP's Show-Cause Notice

Gurjar stressed that his loyalty to the party remains unwavering and urged that a BJP team be dispatched to Loni to investigate the alleged police misconduct.

Ghaziabad's Loni MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar has fired back at a show-cause notice from the BJP, alleging a conspiracy aimed at orchestrating his murder during a Kalash Yatra in the city. Gurjar contended that the police, allegedly acting on orders from a senior official, incited stone-pelting during the procession as a pretext to stage his encounter.

He said he had secured official permission for the event and maintained that these actions were part of a broader plot against him.

Gurjar stressed that his loyalty to the party remains unwavering and urged that a BJP team be dispatched to Loni to investigate the alleged police misconduct. He accused the authorities of targeting him for his vocal stance against corruption and for championing the rights of the marginalised, noting that not only party councillors and workers but also women and children fell victim to the police operation.

'Is Hosting Ram Katha Now A Criminal Offence?'

He questioned whether hosting a Ram Katha was now tantamount to a criminal offence, warning that if it were, he might have to reconsider his involvement. Gurjar also announced plans to submit a CD, containing evidence of the purported police excesses, to the state BJP president, the Chief Minister, and the party’s organisational secretary. Despite his serious allegations, he expressed confidence that the party would act against those responsible.

The notice was issued by Uttar Pradesh BJP president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, who criticised Gurjar's recent public denouncements of the government and his alleged actions that "tarnished" the party's image. BJP state general secretary Govind Narayan Shukla added that Gurjar must explain his statements within seven days, warning that failure to do so could lead to disciplinary measures.

"For a while now, your public criticisms of the government and your conduct have harmed the party's reputation, which is deemed indiscipline. In accordance with directives from BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda, you are required to provide an explanation within seven days as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against you."
