Taapsee Pannu On Bollywood Camps: 'Harsh Reality Is That Big Films Is About Access...I Don't Have That'

Taapsee Pannu who is now busy promoting her next movie, 'Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba', talked about the difficulties she has in breaking into Bollywood's elite circles.

New Delhi: Taapsee Pannu's distinct choice of characters has helped to establish her in the film business. The performer, who is now busy promoting her next movie, 'Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba', talked about the difficulties she has in breaking into Bollywood's elite circles. She recently discussed in an interview how her refusal to go to late-night parties hurts her chances of landing parts in big-time plays.

Taapsee Pannu on Bollywood nepotism

“Bollywood camps are there. The nepotism debate that we talk about is the problem of getting access. If a big budget films is being made, I am sure nobody would disrespect me by saying I am not fit for the role, but I might not get the part because my name will not be brought up as other actors, who are part of camps, they would be recommended for the part. The harsh reality is that big films is about access and I don’t have that access to make it into that room.” Taapsee told Zoom TV.

“Parties is also a way to get into camps. You socialize with people, you become friends and then you work with them. That’s fine but to get to that position you have to go through this process of partying after 10 and that is so draining for me. I can’t sustain it. That’s not me. So, I might as well chose the harder way to do a lot of films and a lot of good work,” the ‘Dunki’ actress added in the same interaction.

Taapsee Pannu work projects

‘Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan?’ is Taapsee’s upcoming film in addition to ‘Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba’. Taapsee will also be seen alongside Vaani Kapoor and Akshay Kumar in ‘Khel Khel Mein’.

Meanwhile, Taapsee Pannu was last seen in Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Dunki’ which did good business at the box office.

On the personal front, Taapsee and her long time partner Mathias Boe will tie the knot in an initiate ceremony in Udaipur soon.
