Sonam Kapoor Mourns The Loss Of Designer Rohit Bal, Shares Screenshot Of Their Last Chat

New Delhi: The legendary fashion designer Rohit Bal, whose groundbreaking work fused modern aesthetics with traditional Indian designs, died on November 1st at the age of 63. After hearing the news of his passing, many celebs people took to social media to pay tribute. Actress Sonam Kapoor shared fond memories of her time working with 'Gudda'.
Sonam Kapoor resorted to Instagram Stories as she mourned the demise of designer Rohit Bal. In a touching tribute, Sonam shared many images of the designer with her and called him "Gudda," a term his friends used with respect. The actress wrote, "Dear gudda l hear about your passing on my way to celebrate diwali in your gorgeous creation that you generously lent to me for the second time l've been blessed to have known you and worn you and walked for you multiple times. I hope you're at peace. Always your biggest fan."
The actress also posted a screenshot of their last conversation, in which they exchanged appreciative messages.
Meanwhile, Ananya Panday shared a snap with Rohit Bal. She wrote, "Gudda Om Shanti," along with a red heart and dove emoji.
Rohit Bal’s Health
Since last year, Rohit has been dealing with a heart ailment. In November 2023, he was also taken to the Medanta Hospital's critical care unit in Gurugram. Due to problems from a pre-existing heart issue, the fashion designer was sent to the hospital immediately.
He returned to work earlier this year and last month in Delhi, he presented his last show at the Lakme India Fashion Week. Fans were concerned about the designer's health when he tripped on the ramp.
A message on the official Instagram account of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) verified the news of his death. The post reads: "We mourn the passing of legendary designer Rohit Bal. He was a founding member of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). Known for his unique blend of traditional patterns with modern sensibilities, Bal's work redefined Indian fashion and inspired generations."
