After a series of pre- and post-wedding celebrations for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, a video of Mukesh Ambani’s eldest daughter-in-law, Shloka Ambani, dozing off during the Aashirwad ceremony has gone viral. In the video, Shloka, adorned in stunning diamond jewelry, is seen nodding off while sitting next to her husband, Aakash Ambani. They are accompanied by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, with Aakash’s sister, Isha Ambani, also present beside the PM.

The viral video is from the Aashirwad ceremony hosted by the Ambanis on Saturday for the newlywed couple, attended by the Prime Minister and numerous celebrities and saints from across the country. Many online users found Shloka’s video endearing and sympathized with her exhaustion.

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding was one of the longest-running events, starting in March. The Ambanis hosted a lavish pre-wedding bash in Jamnagar in March, attended by around 1,200 guests from around the world. Pop icons Rihanna and Akon were invited to perform at the events, making Jamnagar the talk of the town. The celebrations continued for about five days, with three days reserved for VVIPs only.

In June, the Ambanis hosted another pre-wedding bash for Anant and Radhika on a luxury cruise in Europe. This four-day event included about 800 guests and 600 staff, with performances by celebrities like Katy Perry and the Backstreet Boys.

Starting in June, the Ambanis organized several events leading up to the wedding. The pre-wedding festivities began with the Ambanis hosting a group wedding for underprivileged couples, followed by the Mameru-Mausulu ceremony—a ritual where the bride’s maternal uncles gift her clothes and jewelry. The next day featured a grand dandiya night arranged by Anant Ambani’s grandmother, Kokilaben. On July 5, the Ambanis held an extravagant sangeet ceremony with performances by several Bollywood celebrities and Ambani family members, highlighted by an electrifying performance by Justin Bieber.
