Shahid Kapoor Talks About Jab We Met Remake, Kareena Kapoor’s Dance Skills: 'Don't Ruin It...'

Shahid Kapoor, who is busy promoting his upcoming action thriller 'Deva', recently shared his thoughts on actresses who could challenge him in a dance-off. The actor praised his co-star Priyanka Chopra as a talented dancer and also mentioned Deepika Padukone, Pooja Hegde, Kiara Advani, and Amrita Rao.

Shahid Kapoor talks about having a dance off with his co-stars 

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Shahid Kapoor was asked, “If you were to have a dance-off with a co-actress, who would give you a tough competition." 

In response, Shahid said, “There are so many girls who are fantastic dancers. A lot of them I worked with already. Priyanka was a very good dancer, and Deepika was a very good dancer. I enjoyed dancing with Pooja in this film (Deva). Kiara is a good dancer, but we have not danced together. Even Amrita was a good dancer when I worked with her. They are all good. I have never done a song with Katrina but she is a fantastic dancer."

A fan from the audience then mentioned ‘Jab We Met’ co-star Kareena Kapoor’s name. Shahid reacted with a smile and said, “You like her? She’s also an amazing dancer. Okay? Happy now?”

Shahid was also asked why another ‘Jab We Met’, directed by Imtiaz Ali, is not being made, to which the actor said, “Aise ladke sab maar chuke hain, nahi bache (All such guys are dead, none are left).”

Talking about re-watching the film, he said, “I have not seen it for a while. A lot of people ended up watching it, and it is definitely a film that stood tall regardless of the number of years it was made. But of course, it is a beautiful film. I think it is Imtiaz’s best film. Imtiaz is a fantastic filmmaker, and it says a lot about the filmmaker.”

When asked if the film should be remade, he replied, "No, don't ruin it, some things should not be touched."

Shahid Kapoor stars as a cop in his upcoming film ‘Deva’, which also features Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, Pravessh Rana, and Kubbra Sait. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Umesh KR Bansal, ‘Deva’ is set to hit theaters on January 31, 2025.
