Shah Rukh Khan has given his voice to Mufasa in 'Mufasa: The Lion King', which is set to release on December 20. Reprising their roles from the 2019 adaptation of 'The Lion King', both Shah Rukh and his eldest son Aryan Khan are back as Mufasa and Simba, respectively. This time, the Khan family collaboration takes an exciting turn with the youngest member, AbRam Khan, stepping in to voice young Mufasa, making it a unique project for the family.

Shah Rukh Khan on working with both Aryan and AbRam

A special video shared by Disney Films India gave fans a glimpse of the making of this ambitious project. Shah Rukh Khan reflected on the joy of working alongside his sons. He also shared insights into the effort involved in bringing their characters to life.

Speaking about the experience, Shah Rukh said, “It was difficult as compared to today’s time.” Recalling how he and Aryan worked on The Incredibles years ago, he drew comparisons with his sons' dubbing journeys. “Both of them were very patient while working, and honestly, I wasn’t sure if they would actually display this level of patience at their age. But both of them prepared a lot for the project. They properly took time to learn their Hindi lines,” he added.

SRK highlighted the evolution of language preferences over the years, which impacted the dubbing process. “When Aryan dubbed for The Incredibles, I think people used to speak a lot in Hindi, so dubbing for it was relatively easy. However, now, after almost 10-15 years, people are more akin to speaking in English. So, AbRam worked hard on the project. He learnt his 20-25 Hindi lines with his sister (Suhana). The whole family was involved in the film,” he said.

SRK on Aryan and AbRam's vocal tone's similarities

Interestingly, Shah Rukh noted the similarities in the vocal tones of Aryan and AbRam, describing them as delicate and resembling each other. He also expressed how meaningful it was to preserve these memories. “What is exciting is that when I listen to Aryan’s voice from his previous film, it sounds very different to his current voice… And similarly, I am just hoping, it will be the same case when I will listen to AbRam’s voice after 8 or 10 years. It is a great memory to have kept the voice of Aryan and AbRam with me in a film,” he shared.

In addition to Shah Rukh's Hindi rendition, the Telugu version features Mahesh Babu voicing Mufasa, while Arjun Das lends his voice to the Tamil version.

On the career front, Aryan Khan is preparing for the release of his Netflix series set in the world of Bollywood, marking his directorial debut. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is collaborating with his daughter Suhana Khan in Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming project King.
