The superstar also won over fans when he assisted Rani Mukerji with her saree during the 2024 International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in Abu Dhabi. Shah Rukh Khan holds Rani Mukerji's pallu
In a video, Rani Mukerji was seen stepping on stage to announce an award, hugging host Karan Johar as Shah Rukh stood nearby, noticing her saree. As Rani walked toward the mic, Shah Rukh gently lifted the loose end of her saree (pallu) that had touched the floor. After Rani reached the mic, Shah Rukh softly placed the pallu on the floor. Rani laughed at his thoughtful gesture and mouthed, "Thank you." For the event, Karan wore a black and red jacket with trousers, Shah Rukh sported a blazer and pants, while Rani dazzled in a satin green saree.
Sharing the video, IIFA wrote, "Nostalgia is real! Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Karan Johar together again—now this is the reunion we didn't know we needed!" Alongside the pictures, they added, "Once again, simply chalte chalte, Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji steal our hearts with their beautiful jodi (pair)!"

At the event, Rani won Best Actress for her role in 'Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway', while Shah Rukh took home the Best Actor award for 'Jawan'. The three-day IIFA celebration, which began on September 27 with IIFA Utsavam, honoring Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema, saw stars like Rekha, Shah Rukh, Karan Johar, and Vicky Kaushal light up the stage.
Ananya Panday and Janhvi Kapoor also added sparkle with their performances. The event will conclude on September 29 with the exclusive IIFA Rocks, featuring live performances by artists like Honey Singh, Shilpa Rao, and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
