YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia aka BeerBiceps gets passport back after Supreme Court order. Takes first international trip after ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy. Read full update.

YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, has finally been permitted to travel abroad after months of legal trouble stemming from a controversial remark made on the show 'India’s Got Latent'. His passport, which had been confiscated during the investigation, has now been returned, and he has embarked on his first international trip since the controversy.
In a major relief, the Supreme Court on Monday directed the police to return Ranveer’s passport after the Assam and Maharashtra governments confirmed that the investigation against him had concluded. The case revolved around allegedly obscene and offensive remarks made during a now-deleted YouTube episode.
Ranveer took to Instagram to share the news with his followers. Posting a cheerful image at the airport with his suitcase, he wrote, “Passport mil gaya guys (I've got my passport back, guys)”. He also shared a business class selfie and a screenshot of the Supreme Court order directing the return of his passport.

Legal Background
Ranveer Allahbadia had first requested the return of his passport in March 2025, stating that his work demands international travel for his popular podcast, which he called “his only source of livelihood.”
He had surrendered his passport following a Supreme Court order dated February 18, which provided him interim protection from arrest. This came after multiple FIRs were filed against him over the controversial India’s Got Latent episode, which premiered on YouTube on February 9 and was removed shortly afterward following a complaint by the Union Government.
On Monday, the Solicitor General informed the court that the investigation was complete, though Ranveer would still be required to cooperate until the chargesheet is filed.
Both the Maharashtra and Assam governments had charged Ranveer under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including:
Outraging the modesty of women (Section 79)
Promoting hatred (Section 196)
Insulting religious beliefs (Section 299)
Acts against public decency (Section 299)
The India’s Got Latent Controversy
The controversy began after Ranveer appeared on an episode of India’s Got Latent, alongside Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchlani, and others. During the show, Ranveer posed a provocative question to a contestant: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?”
While the remark was met with laughter on set, it sparked intense public outrage and political criticism online. Multiple FIRs were filed against the cast and creators, and the episode was quickly taken down.
