Ranbir Kapoor Says Dad Rishi Kapoor's 'Rude Behaviour' Towards Fans Made Him 'Grounded'
Ranbir Kapoor shared that he has studied the failures of many Kapoor family members, which has shaped his own career.
Ranbir Kapoor, known for his patience and humility during public interactions, recently discussed his approach to fame in an interview with entrepreneur Nikhil Kamath. The actor shared that he has studied the failures of many Kapoor family members, which has shaped his own career. He noted that his late father, Rishi Kapoor's occasionally rude behavior towards fans made him determined to be more approachable, a trait that has earned him admiration from both colleagues and fans.
Learning from Kapoor Family's Failures
Ranbir Kapoor, who grew up in a family of actors and filmmakers, reflected on the highs and lows he witnessed within his family. He said, “I realized very early on because I have grown up in a film family and have seen so many successful people. But at the same time, I have seen so many failures too. My family has generations of successful actors and those who have failed. I know why they failed. I studied them. I noticed it from a very young age.”
He mentioned that Rishi Kapoor would sometimes refuse fans' requests for autographs and photos, saying, “No, I am not interested in doing that!” Ranbir recalled seeing fans' disappointment in such moments and resolved never to decline a fan's request. “I would see the fan’s face, and they would look at my father with so much disdain and disappointment. If somebody wants a picture with me or an autograph, I’m more than happy to oblige,” he added.
