Ranveer Allahbadia is facing backlash over an inappropriate joke he made on Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. Ranveer joined the judging panel of the talent show for a special bonus episode alongside fellow YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija, and comedian Jaspreet Singh.

Amid the controversy, an old video of Priyanka Chopra has resurfaced, where she explains the importance of family over fame while speaking with Ranveer on his podcast.

Back in 2022, Priyanka appeared on The Ranveer Show with Ranveer Allahbadia. During the episode, she shared insights on self-confidence, entrepreneurship, and success. However, the clip currently going viral on social media captures Priyanka schooling Ranveer on the importance of family.

In the video, Ranveer asks the actor, “Do you still go for family functions and all that? Can you? Because of the same fame angle.” Priyanka asks him what he means to which the YouTuber replies, “You’ve reached like this (spreads out his arms) level of fame, I can’t imagine you…”

Priyanka asks, “So? You’re saying I’m not going to dance on the baraat of my brother’s wedding?” 

When Ranveer said ‘maybe’, she replies, “Maybe nahi bhai! Of course. My cousins, my brothers… Family is most important to me. My fame is a byproduct of my job, it does not define me. My fame is not my job. It’s very clear to me. I’m not famous for a living, I work for a living and fame comes with it. So, it's not something I can control. That’s something that’s thrust upon me.”

“Public people, even though you’re seeing a celebrity or someone every day on billboards or magazines, there’s still a human being behind them. They also like to eat paratha and achar. For those unaware, during a recent  India’s Got Latent episode, Ranveer Allahbadia asked a highly controversial question. "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to stop it forever?" he asked.

Following the uproar, a police complaint was filed against Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija. The FIR accuses them of promoting obscene and sexually explicit content on the show, invoking multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
