Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh, celebrated for his remarkable singing and acting talents, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, sharing light-hearted and candid moments during their interaction. The meeting highlighted Diljit’s inspiring journey from a small-town boy to a globally recognised icon.

In a video posted by Diljit on X, he is seen warmly greeting PM Modi with a bouquet of flowers. The Prime Minister reciprocates the gesture, welcoming him with a “Sat Shri Akal Ji.” 

PM Modi also shared pictures from the encounter on X, writing, “A great interaction with Diljit Dosanjh! He’s truly multifaceted, blending talent and tradition. We connected over music, culture, and more…”

During their exchange, PM Modi praised Diljit’s achievements, remarking, “When an Indian youth from the countryside gains global recognition, it feels good.” Diljit, visibly humbled, folded his hands in gratitude.

The Prime Minister playfully added, “Your family named you Diljit… and you’ve truly won the hearts of people.” To this, Diljit responded with a heartfelt reflection: “I used to read that India is great, but only after traveling across the country did I realize why it truly is.” PM Modi, smiling, agreed, “India’s vastness is its strength. We are a vibrant society.”

The conversation also touched on the power of Yoga, with Diljit calling it magical. PM Modi concurred, saying, “Those who experience Yoga understand its real strength.”

Diljit recalled being deeply moved by PM Modi’s tribute to the river Ganga, likening it to a mother-son bond. The superstar also sang a few Punjabi lines in honor of Guru Nanak, as PM Modi tapped along to the rhythm, appreciating the moment.
