Kusha Kapila On Online Trolling Over Separation From Zorawar Ahluwalia: 'This Topic Is Officially Over For Me'

New Delhi: Social media influencer and content creator Kusha Kapila, who recently announced separation from her husband Zorawar Ahluwalia, took to her Instagram story on Tuesday to react to the online trolling she has faced after the separation announcement.
She wrote, “This topic is officially over for me, moving forward. I haven't given a statement to anyone nor will I ever give one. I do not have a PR team so no story is a plant. Ho gaya ab (It's done now).”
She added, "Also, I have restricted countless profiles over the last two weeks, restricted words, sanitised comment sections and hopefully, we are at the tail end of it but that doesn't mean I haven't seen how so many of you have fought with these nalayak, behuda macchars (useless, disgusting mosquitoes) with logic and so much dignity. It sucks that you have to do this but I promise that I am santizing my feed slowly, but steadily. Over."
Kusha and Zorawar announced their separation on Instagram last month. She wrote, “Zorawar and I have mutually decided to part ways. This hasn’t been an easy decision by any measure but we know it’s the right one at this point in our lives. The love and life we have shared together continues to mean everything for us, but sadly, what we seek currently for ourselves doesn’t align. We gave it our all, until we couldn’t anymore.”
“A relationship ending is heartbreaking and it’s been a tough ordeal for us and our families. Thankfully, we have had some time to process this, but what we shared and built together panned for over a decade. We still need a lot more time and healing to get to the next phase of our lives. Our current focus is to get through this period with love, respect and support towards each other,” she added.
Kusha has been a target of severe trolling ever since the separation announcement. An old video of Kusha and Karan Johar talking about infidelity appeared on Reddit sparking a massive backlash against her.
The video was taken from an episode of the online chat show 'Social Media Star with Janice', in which Kusha and Karan both made appearances. In the old video, the filmmaker told Kusha, “And remember sexual infidelity is not infidelity." Kusha nodded in agreement with the statement and said, "I believe that." Internet users were not pleased with her comment and criticised her for apparently endorsing "infidelity".
Her estranged husband had Zorawar also reacted to the trolling on his Instagram story and wrote, “We realise we live public lives, but we still hold certain things sacred. Our marriage and respect for each other being one of them. Divorce much like our marriage was a decision we both made together, after much deliberation and thought. It was a tough and painful decision but one we took collectively, for the sake of both of our well-being. What has transpired over the last 24 hours, with Kusha being subject to vile attacks online makes me sad and disappointed. To attack Kusha’s character and paint her as some villain is shameful. Let’s all please do better."
Kusha and Zorawar got married in 2017.
