Karan Johar Reveals Desire To Remake 'Sangam' With Ranveer, Deepika And Ranbir On 'Koffee With Karan'

Along with admitting that he felt at ease filming a romantic comedy with Deepika's ex Ranbir, Ranveer also disclosed that Karan had originally proposed that the three of them recreate 'Sangam'.

New Delhi: Ranveer Singh would like to be in a love triangle on-screen with wife Deepika Padukone and her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. The shocking admission was made by the actor at the inaugural episode of Koffee With Karan 8. Along with admitting that he felt at ease filming a romantic comedy with Deepika's ex-boyfriend, Ranveer also disclosed that Karan had originally proposed that the three of them recreate 'Sangam'. For those who don't know, 'Sangam' was about two best buddies who developed feelings for the same girl.

With Raj Kapoor, Vyjayanthimala, and Rajendra Kumar in the key parts, the movie debuted in 1964. Directed by none other than Raj Kapoor, the movie was an enormous hit. 

During the rapid fire round on Koffee With Karan 8 episode 1, Karan Johar asked Ranveer Singh: “In a love triangle featuring you and Deepika, which male actor would you not mind being cast to be the third character?”

Ranveer replied, “Ranbir.” He then revealed, “You wanted to make Sangam with the three of us, right?” Karan replied, “Yes.” Ranveer then pulled him for not going ahead with his plans. “You are always boasting but make nothing concrete.” Karan said he can still make Sangam. “Sign it?” Karan asked, to which Deepika replied, “Done.” “I am dying to (make it),” Karan said.

In 2016, Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor appeared together for the first time in front of the cameras. That year, the stars shared a taste of their bromance with fans when they sat together for a hilarious Koffee With Karan episode. Someday, fans have been dreaming, they'll get together for a movie. But there has been a long wait.

In addition to discussing his collaboration with Ranbir on the Sangam adaptation, Ranveer stated that he would like to team up with Ranbir Kapoor to recreate the now-famous Dola Re Dola performance from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Although Ranveer gave some really witty and impressive answers, the coffee hamper was ultimately won by his wife Deepika Padukone.
