Mumbai: Karan Johar is one of the most popular celebrities in the country. Born to producer and founder of Dharma Productions - Yash Johar, Karan Johar has gifted the audience with some of the best films of this generation. KJo started his career as an assistant director to Aditya Chopra for the film ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’. Karan then made his directorial debut with the 1998 film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ which proved to be a huge commercial success.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead roles, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ is one of the most romantic movies. The movie tells the story of a widower’s (played by Rani Mukerji) daughter who tries to reunite her father (played by SRK) with his old friend (played by Kajol). ‘KKHH’ also features Salman Khan in a cameo role.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

This drama film written and directed by Karan Johar teaches the audience about family values and the importance of love. The movie boasts an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The film proved to be both commercially and critically successful.

Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna

Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta and Kirron Kher, ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ not only shows a love story but also explores the theme of adultery. Directed by Karan Johar, the film is way ahead of its time. Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna have some of the most soulful tracks and are among romantic chartbusters, even decades after its release.

My Name Is Khan

Directed by Karan Johar, ‘My Name Is Khan’ revolves around the story of an autistic man (played by Shah Rukh Khan) who falls in love with a woman named Mandira (played by Kajol) and gets married to her. The story follows the protagonist who tries to meet the President of the United States to win his love back after Mandira’s child gets killed in an assault of prejudicial nature.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles, this movie tells the story of unrequited love. Directed by Karan Johar, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a pivotal role.

Karan Johar has once again donned the director's hat for the upcoming romantic-comedy drama 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. The first look posteers of the film have been released on the occasion of the filmmaker's birthday. The film also stars veteran actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi and releases in theatres on July 28.
