New Delhi: Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav is set to appear in court on March 27 in connection with an assault case involving fellow YouTuber Sagar Thakur, also known as Maxtern, as confirmed by the police. Rajender Kumar, SHO of Sector 53 police station, provided details on the upcoming court appearance. He confirmed to IANS that Judicial Magistrate First Class has fixed his appearance on March 27.
Elvish will be brought to the Gurugram court by the Uttar Pradesh police after being taken into custody by the Gurugram police, Rajender explained.
Earlier this week, the Gurugram police had requested a production warrant for Elvish in the Gurugram court.
The incident under investigation took place at a shopping mall in the Sector 53 area on March 8.
Rajender Kumar mentioned that upon Elvish’s arrival with the production warrant, he will be interrogated regarding the assault case. Additionally, the police will seek information about others involved in the incident based on the details gathered during the interrogation.
On March 8, a video surfaced showing Elvish Yadav physically assaulting a content creator based in Delhi. Subsequently, an FIR was lodged against Yadav and others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including rioting, unlawful assembly, voluntarily causing hurt, and criminal intimidation, at the Sector 53 police station.
In a conversation with AajTak, Elvish’s father Ram Avtar Yadav disclosed that Elvish used to rent old cars in order to show off in his videos. "He used to rent older cars to showcase his stunts in his YouTube videos and portrayed them as his own new cars”, said Ram Avtar.
The Yadav family also claimed that their son is innocent and that he is the victim of unjust targeting because of his fame at such a young age.
