AR Rahman's Chennai Concert Gets Cancelled Due To Rain; CM Stalin Reacts

In Chennai, AR Rahman was scheduled to do a concert. Unfortunately, the event had to be postponed because of the weather.

New Delhi: A concert featuring AR Rahman was almost ready to start in Chennai. The performance, however, has been called off because of the weather. The artist said that bad weather in Chennai was to blame for the cancellation of the show. He updated that the location of his concert suffered from water stagnation. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin replied to Rahman by promising a "world-class infrastructure" capable of hosting events on a grand scale.

AR Rahman's concert was supposed to take place on Saturday night in Panaiyur from 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm, however, it was postponed due to rain. AR Rahman announced the concert's postponement in Chennai on X (previously Twitter). He wrote,  “My Dearest Friends …Owing to adverse weather conditions and persistent rains, it is only made advisable for the health and safety of my beloved fans and friends to reschedule the concert to the nearest best date, with the guidance of the statutory authorities. More details on the new date will follow soon! EPI.”

Many of Rahman's followers begged him not to postpone the performance. He comforted a few disappointed fans by saying he was looking forward to performing in a city with modern facilities where there would be no infrastructure difficulties.

Now, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin replied to Rahman's remark by saying that the city would have a "world class infrastructure" capable of hosting events on a grand scale. M K Stalin tweeted about plans to build a convention centre on East Coast Road in Chennai.

Check out his reply here:

The region was largely submerged in water due to the severe rains, as seen in an Instagram image by Rahman. He dropped the pictures and wrote, "From the venue today."
