Aparshakti Khurana Addresses Credit War Over Stree 2 Success, Calls PR Game 'Unpleasant'

The PR game of lead actors Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor has escalated as 'Stree 2' keeps making money at the box office. Here's what co-star Aparshakti Khurana has to say on this.

New Delhi: Since its debut, ‘Stree 2’ has been a smashing success at the box office and firmly established itself as a blockbuster. Shraddha Kapoor, albeit part of an ensemble cast, has become one of the most sought-after celebrities since the film's release. The film's popularity has sparked an internet dispute about who should get the most credit. The actor who portrayed Bittu, Aparkshakti Khurrana, recently spoke out over the continuing dispute.

When asked about the issue, Aparshakti Khurana avoided the subject in a recent interview with Zoom. he said, "Main ispe kuch bolunga, baat khulegi toh door tak jaayegi, main kuch bolna nahin chahunga, audience jo kahe wo sahi hai."

Aparshakti Khurana said that the credit battle is mostly the result of PR techniques, while still praising his co-stars for their outstanding performances. He said, "See this is a PR game. If a channel goes and asks the audience, the original audience on street, what are they saying? I want to know that. So, this is a PR game, I don't want to comment on it. I love each and every actor of my film. I am attached to them. In such a happy space, where the film has gotten so much love and success, this can come across as slightly unpleasant now."

He added, “It shouldn’t have happened now, when everyone is in a happy space, celebrating the film. In between all these things, when this happens, then you have to also take a side, but I don’t want to do that. They are all equally close to me and I respect their journeys. I am a big fan of journeys. What someone has gone through and can do well. Someone can dance well, act well, look well, or even do PR well. So there will be talent of all kinds, which can help that journey. I wouldn’t call PR my most strong part.”

About ‘Stree 2’

‘Stree 2’ is still doing quite well at the cinema. With a remarkable total collection of Rs 341.65 crore as of day 10, the horror comedy has earned Rs 32.5 crore.
