New Delhi: Producer Sandeep Ssingh declared that actress Ankita Lokhande did not charge a ‘single rupee’ for her most recent production, ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’, which stars Randeep Hooda.

In an interaction with the news agency IANS, Sandeep Ssingh shared: “Producers like us or Ekta Kapoor, Kangana or Kamal Jain, we all know what kind of caliber she has as an actor. So, we come with those kinds of quality-driven, performance oriented roles to Ankita.”
The producer revealed: "For this film, she did not charge a single rupee.”
“Because he came to me with the film. He is my very dear friend and there were a lot of things going on. Sandeep was already into a lot where he was looking for finance for the film and I was there for him.” Ankita Lokhande told the agency about not taking any remuneration for the film.
In an interview with India Today, Sandeep recalled Ankita’s friendship from his time as a CEO co-producing big-budget films like ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Ram-Leela’, and how Ankita helped him through a difficult time in his career.
On getting resistance from people to work in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar
Due to the media attention he had received, Sandeep Ssingh stated that he encountered resistance from others when the chance to work with ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ presented itself. Ankita Lokhande, on the other hand, consented right away to play Yamunabai in the movie, but only on the stipulation that she would not get paid for the part.
This project is a biopic of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, the liberation fighter, for those who are unaware. The film's release date was revealed by the producers in February. The movie, which stars Randeep Hooda, released in theatres on March 22, 2024.
Directed and co-written by Randeep Hooda and Utkarsh Naithani is 'Swatantra Veer Savarkar'. Ankita Lokhande and Amit Sial play important roles in it as well.
