Aishwarya Rai Bachchan relationship with Salman Khan is one of the most talked about Bollywood relationships of all time. The actress was also in a relationship with Vivek Oberoi before getting married to Abhishek Bachchan in 2007. Aishwarya fell in love with Salman during the filming of the 1999 romantic drama 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'. The couple broke up in 2002, and Aishwarya later began dating Vivek Oberoi while working on the 2004 film 'Kyun! Ho Gaya Na'.

What Aishwarya Rai said about her breakup with Salman Khan

Following her breakup with Salman, Aishwarya opened up about the challenges she faced during their relationship. Speaking to the Indian Express at that time, she revealed, "I stood by him enduring his alcoholic misbehaviour in its worst phases and in turn, I was at the receiving end of his abuse (verbal, physical, and emotional), infidelity, and indignity. That is why, like any other self-respecting woman, I ended my relationship with him."

 

However, Aishwarya's remarks did not sit well with Salman’s brother, Sohail Khan, who criticised her for never publicly acknowledging her relationship with Salman. In a media interaction, Sohail had commented, "Now she weeps in public. When she was going around with him, visiting our home so often like part of the family, did she ever acknowledge the relationship? She never did. That made Salman feel insecure. He wanted to know how much she wanted him. She would never let him be sure of that."

Sohail also suggested that Aishwarya might have been in touch with Salman while dating Vivek, hinting at potential complications between the two relationships. He stated, "Aishwarya was in constant touch with Salman till recently on the mobile, and that’s what upset Vivek."

 

Aishwarya and Abhishek's divorce rumours

Meanwhile, there are reports that Aishwarya’s marriage to Abhishek Bachchan is currently facing difficulties. Rumors have surfaced in recent weeks suggesting that the couple, who welcomed their daughter Aaradhya in 2011, might be headed for a divorce. However, neither Aishwarya nor Abhishek has publicly addressed these rumours yet.
