Aamir Khan is gearing up for his big-screen return with ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, marking his first project since the underwhelming performance of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. While promoting the film, he shared a memory from the 90s. Even though he and Shah Rukh Khan were considered rivals back then, SRK gifted him a fancy laptop in 1996. Aamir admitted he hadn’t used it for a long time.

Shah Rukh Khan once gifted Aamir Khan a fancy laptop

In a chat with Raj Shamani, Aamir Khan spoke about his love-hate friendship with Shah Rukh Khan. He shared a story from 1996 when they did a show together. Aamir said he wasn't good with technology back then, so Shah Rukh gifted him an expensive Toshiba laptop to help him out.

Aamir Khan said, “Our generation of actors share a lot of warmth and respect for each other. When Shah Rukh Khan and I were on the show in 1996, Shah Rukh Khan gifted me a laptop. I am a digitally handicapped person. I have an analogue person. He had told me that he was purchasing the latest laptop. I told them that I don't have a laptop.”

Aamir Khan further shared that he ended up damaging the laptop simply by not using it for four years. The actor admitted with a laugh that his lack of tech knowledge led to the device becoming unusable over time. He said, “He purchased the same laptop for himself as well as for me. He installed everything in my laptop and gifted it to me. After 4 years, my manager asked me if he could use my laptop, as it had not been used for a long time. I had completely forgotten that I had a laptop. When he showed it to me, I realised it was gifted by SRK. I told him to use it. That laptop didn't even turn on.”
