Breaking Gender Stereotypes Mandira Bedi Carries The Bier At Her Husband Raj Kaushal’s Funeral

On Wednesday (June 30, 2021) internet woke up to a heart-breaking news of passing away of filmmaker Raj Kaushal who was also the husband of actress Mandira Bedi.
His demise has come up as a major shock for the film and television industry. The well-known filmmaker passed away due to a massive cardiac arrest that he suffered in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Soon as the news surfaced in media many well-known celebs and close friends of the filmmaker and Mandira rushed to their home to be with the bereaved family for the last rites.
Meanwhile pictures and videos of an inconsolable Mandira carrying her husband’s bier for the last rites is going viral big time on social media with fans hailing the actress for breaking the gender stereotype.
Mandira was seen paying her last respect and carrying the bier outside her house. Traditionally, a woman is not expected to touch the bier or carry it to the crematorium. But Mandira, who was inconsolable yet strong, broke that stereotype as she carried her husband’s bier and tried to bid him goodbye in her own way.
Mandira and Raj got married in 1999, they welcomed their first child in 2011. The couple adopted a girl last year in the pandemic and named her Tara Bedi Kaushal.
Raj Kaushal had directed several commercials and also been a film director when he directed films like Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi and Shaadi Ka Laddoo.
Many Bollywood celebrities took to social media to mourn the demise of Kaushal. Celebrities shared condolence messages for the late filmmaker's wife, actress Mandira Bedi, and their children, Vir and Tara.
