Taapsee Pannu’s 'Shabaash Mithu' Bombs At The Box Office, Rajkummar Rao's 'HIT' Shows Upward Trend
While Rajkummar Rao’s 'HIT: The First Case' has shown an upward trend and is doing good at multiplexes, Taapsee’s 'Shabaash Mithu' is a complete disaster at the box office.
New Delhi: Taapsee Pannu-starrer 'Shabaash Mithu' and Rajkummar Rao's 'HIT: The First Case' were released this Friday and the film had a competition with Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani starrer ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ which is already performing well at the box office.
While Rajkummar Rao’s 'HIT: The First Case' has shown an upward trend and is doing good at multiplexes, Taapsee’s 'Shabaash Mithu' is a complete disaster at the box office. 'Shabaash Mithu' collected Rs 0.60 crore on day three, taking the total box office collection to Rs 1.65 crore while ‘HIT: The First Case' saw an upward growth and earned Rs 2.23 crore on the third day, bringing its total to Rs 5.59 crore.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the box office performance of the Rajkummar Rao starrer and wrote, “#HIT: #TheFirstCase finds flavour amongst [premium] multiplexes, but the weekend total is far from satisfactory [despite day-wise growth]... Weekdays crucial... Needs to maintain Day 1 levels on Day 4... Fri 1.35 cr, Sat 2.01 cr, Sun 2.23. Total: ₹ 5.59 cr. #India biz.”
‘HIT - The First Case’ is the remake of the 2020 Telugu film of the same name. The film is directed by Sailesh Kolanu and stars Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra. The Telugu film starred Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma in lead roles. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Dil Raju, Krishan Kumar, and Kuldeep Rathore.
In the film, Rajkummar plays Vikram Jaisingh, a cop, who is on the trail of a missing woman, while he struggles with mental health issues in 'HIT: The First Case'.
