Ashnoor Kaur Scores 94% In Class 12 Boards: Won’t Give Up On Studies As Showbiz Isn’t Very Stable, Wanted to Set an Example That Actors Are Intelligent Too
Ashnoor Kaur said she had stopped taking up long term projects on the professional front since she wanted to focus on her studies.
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame actress Ashnoor Kaur is on cloud nine as the girl scored 94 percent in her class 12 board exams, and on top of that, she even purchased a new house, too, all at the age of 17. A commerce student, Ashnoor passed high school with flying colours and opened up on her results.
While talking to news 18, the young actress said, “I’m feeling very happy. This year, I did not take up any long term acting projects like a daily soap because I had to focus on my Board exams. I wanted to do better than what I did in class 10th. It wasn’t like I did not work during this time. I had many short projects lined up. Everything was online so it was tough for us, but somehow I managed and I am proud of my achievement."
Ashnoor added that she had stopped taking up long term projects on the professional front since she wanted to focus on her studies.
With her scoring so well in 12th Boards, Ashnoor has also proved that actors can be good at studies too, she said the general perception that people have about actors- ‘They are not good in studies’, “I wanted to set an example. Many people came to me and said that you have proved us wrong that actors can’t be intelligent. They are intelligent. It is about your passion, your talent and the choices. It is not related to mental ability and intellect."
As for future plans, Ashnoor doesn’t intend to drop her higher studies and focus only on acting. In fact, she said that she’ll keep a backup option ready as well apart from being an actor.
“This showbiz industry is not very stable, I’d want a backup option. Rather than starting from scratch in something totally new, I also have interest in direction, so I might do my Masters in filmmaking,” said Kaur, who has been a part of shows such as Patiala Babes and Jhansi Ki Rani.
