‘We Have A Right To Keep Our Personal Life Private’: AP Dhillon On Not Featuring Women In His Docu-Series

Amritpal Singh Dhillon, better known by his stage name AP Dhillon, has been enjoying the popularity of his hit songs.

New Delhi: Amritpal Singh Dhillon, better known by his stage name AP Dhillon, has been enjoying the popularity of his hit songs. 'AP Dhillon: First of a Kind', a freshly launched Prime Video docuseries that gives viewers a look into his life, explores his transformation from a business student to a pop star. Although his grandmother receives an emotional tribute throughout the series, other women are conspicuously absent.

AP Dhillon was asked about the lack of women in the show, which prominently featured his male partners, during an interview with Film Companion. He clarified, "A lot comes with it (fame) good or bad. At least we try our best to keep our personal life away from this. I feel like we are public enough. We have a right to keep our personal life private.”

The musician continued by saying that women are prominent in many of his videos.

Bollywood's top stars attended the singer's docuseries debut, which was held in Mumbai on August 17. Ranveer Singh and Salman Khan were among them. Other musicians including Badshah, MC Stan, Shinda Kahlon, and Harrdy Sandhu were also present to grace the event.

AP Dhillon released his latest song 'With You' featuring Banita Sandhu of the film October, recently. There was obvious connection between the two, which led to rumours that they were dating. Speculation started to spread when they worked together on the music video. By posting several cuddly images on her Instagram account on August 19, Banita Sandhu made it official that she was dating AP Dhillon. Her caption included a heart emoji and said, "With me."

In the interview, Dhillion also discussed how he finds it upsetting when people speculate about his personal life. This was one of the reasons I decided to make the documentary series, he stated. Due to what they have seen on social media, everyone has an impression of you. They have no idea what kind of person you are on the inside, but fame has its perks. Thus, my fans will learn more about me than just my music when they watch this documentary series.
