Veteran actor Anupam Kher, currently soaking in the energy of New York City, expressed his immense pride at representing India during the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations held at the iconic Times Square.

Anupam Kher Celebrates Yoga at Times Square

Anupam took to Instagram to share a series of videos and photos capturing the early morning yoga session on Saturday.

In one video, the actor says: “Namaste, it's so wonderful to see Yoga being performed in this most iconic place in the world. I've grown up seeing my grandfather doing yoga… Yoga not only is great for our physical health but also for our mental health. And it was a great initiative.”

Proud Moment for India

Sharing his joy, Anupam captioned his post: “YOGA IN TIME SQUARE NY: It was my privilege and my honour to be there for #Bharat for the 11th #InternationalYogaDay at the iconic #TimeSquare in New York! Thank you @indiainnewyork @binaysrikant76 ji for inviting me to this highly prestigious event. It was wonderful to practice #Yog in this great environment! Jai Hind! #YogaForOneEarthOneHealth.”

The International Day of Yoga is marked worldwide on June 21 each year, following its adoption by the United Nations in 2014, an initiative led by India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Anupam Kher's Directorial Venture 'Tanvi The Great'

The actor is currently in the US for the grand premiere of his upcoming directorial venture Tanvi The Great, which premiered at the New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) and the IAAC. Anupam had earlier shared that the New York premiere was on June 19, followed by Austin on the 21st and Houston on the 22nd.

Tanvi The Great, set to hit theatres on July 18, features debutante Shubhangi Dutt along with an ensemble cast including Iain Glen, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, and Nasser. Directed by Anupam Kher, the film is produced by Kher Studios and NFDC, in collaboration with the Lower Middle Class Corporation.
