Amitabh Bachchan Reacts After Account With More Than 1 Million Followers Gets Blue Tick Back: ‘Paisa Hajam?’

New Delhi: Amitabh Bachchan is enjoying Twitter so much that he has upgraded to the premium Twitter Blue plan. All verified users who had not adhered to Twitter's new policy had their blue ticks removed. However, the policy was changed such that anyone with over 1 million followers may regain their verification status (blue tick) without paying a fee only two days later. Big B responded jokingly on Twitter, 'Khel khatam, paisa hazam'.

On Sunday night, Amitabh tweeted in Hindi: "Are maare gae Gulfam, biraj me maare gae Gulfam. Ae Twitter mausi, chahchi, beheni, tai, bua... jhauaan bhar ke ta naam hain tumhaar. Paise bharwa liye hamara neel kamal khaatir. Ab kahat ho jekar 1 m follower unkar neel kamal free ma. Humar to 48.4 m hain, ab? Khel khatam, paisa hajam? (Oh Gulfam is dead, Hey Twitter Aunt, sister or whatever your name is. You got us to pay for the blue tick. Now you are saying those with 1 Mn followers get their blue tick for free. I have 48.4 M. Now what? Game over, money gone?)”

Amitabh initially tweeted to say he had renewed his membership and asked the blue tick mark to appear again. When it was fixed, he tweeted his appreciation and dedicated a song to Elon Musk titled "Tu Cheez Badi Hai Musk Musk."

To help users distinguish between real and fake accounts, Twitter created the blue tick mark system in 2009 to verify the authenticity of accounts, such as those belonging to companies/brands, news organisations, and others.
