YSR Telangana Party Chief YS Sharmila who is the daughter of the former chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh -- the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy andsister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to join the Congress today in Delhi. When asked about her joining the grand old party upon her arrival in Delhi, she said,  "Yes, looks like it." However, she did not divulge much about her role and said "We will know tomorrow". This comes as the stage is set for the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh, coinciding with the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

Earlier, the Congress announced that a "very eminent personality" will join the party at 10.30 AM, Thursday at AICC headquarters here.

On Tuesday at a meeting in Hyderabad, Sharmila said that she would meet the Congress top rung including party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi in Delhi and make a "crucial" announcement.

Sharmila could be given a national in the Congress after her party's merger with the grand old party. She had supported Congress during the recent assembly polls in Telangana. She said her support was intended to end the alleged corrupt and anti-people rule of the BRS led by K Chandrasekhar Rao.
