Who Is Vivek Bunty Sahu? BJP's Contender From Chhindwara Against Kamal Nath's Son Nakul Nath

Banti Sahu had given a tough fight to Kamal Nath in the assembly elections.

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has again chosen Vivek Kumar 'Banti Sahu', who previously ran against former Chief Minister Kamal Nath in the Madhya Pradesh state assembly elections, to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. This decision sets the stage for a political clash between Vivek 'Banti Sahu' and Nakul Nath, the son of Kamal Nath.

Banti Sahu had given a tough fight to Kamal Nath in the 2023 assembly elections. However, Kamal Nath narrowly defeated Banti Sahu by a margin of only 36,000 votes.

By granting a ticket to Banti Sahu from Chhindwara, the BJP has intensified the competition for Nakul Nath. Banti Sahu has been a consistent contender against former CM Kamal Nath in the assembly elections.

In 2023, the state assembly elections witnessed a strong rivalry between Banti Sahu and Kamal Nath. While numerous BJP legislators in Madhya Pradesh secured victories with margins exceeding 100,000 votes, Kamal Nath managed to win by a narrow margin of just 36,594 votes.

Banti Sahu was considered for a Lok Sabha ticket from the beginning. By fielding him against Kamal Nath in the Lok Sabha elections, the party has set the stage for a formidable contest.

Kamal Nath Secured Victory In 2018 By A Margin Of 25,000 Votes

In 2018, when the Congress came into power in Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath, then a Member of Parliament, resigned from his Lok Sabha seat to contest from Chhindwara, previously held by Deepak Saxena. During this period, Banti Sahu posed a strong challenge to him. Despite this, Kamal Nath emerged victorious with a narrow margin of 25,000 votes.

Banti Sahu In 2023 Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections

In the 2023 state assembly elections, from the outset of the vote counting, Banti Sahu was ahead of Kamal Nath right from the first round. In the Chhindwara region, Banti maintained a consistent lead over Kamal Nath.

However, as the vote counting progressed towards the final phase by the afternoon, Banti Sahu gradually started to fall behind.
