UP Election 2022 | 'Mafiagiri' Counting Its Last Breath, 'Parivaarwadi' Will Be Defeated Again: PM Modi

PM Modi said during the rally in Kanpur Dehat that voter turnout in second phase polling in Uttar Pradesh points at BJP returning to power again

New Delhi: As polling is underway for the second phase of Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Kanpur (Dehat) and addressed a public rally. The campaign was organized near Government Degree College, Akbarpur.

PM Modi exuded confidence and said that according to the trends in the first phase of UP elections and the way people are supporting the party in the second phase, BJP will return to power with drumrolls.

BJP had also made arrangements for their virtual broadcast in seven assembly seats of Kanpur, where polling is to be held in the third phase. Party supporters from Bithoor, Bilhaur, and Ghatampur assemblies of Kanpur, Kanpur Rural, Rasoolabad, Rania Akbarpur, Sikandra and Bhognipur, Madhogarh, Orai, and Kalpi also reached the rally ground to listen to the PM.

Candidates of the respective assemblies were also present in the direct rally. At the same time, candidates were present in any one program in the assembly in the virtual rally. The PM also addressed the people of Kalyanpur, Govindnagar, Sisamau, Aryanagar, Kidwainagar, Chhawani, and Maharajpur assembly seats of Kanpur district through a virtual medium.

For this, the party had made arrangements to telecast the PM's address to the people by installing large LED screens in 27 organizational areas, while following Covid guidelines. Candidates in the assembly constituency were also present in the programme.

Highlights of PM Modi's speech in Kanpur:

  • Taking a jibe at the opposition parties, PM Modi said, "The 'Parivaarwadi' will again be defeated by the people of Uttar Pradesh. The festival of colours- Holi will be celebrated in Uttar Pradesh on March 10 itself."
  • Taking an indirect dig at the SP-RLD alliance for the ongoing elections, PM Modi said, "When they keep changing their allies, then how will they serve the people of Uttar Pradesh?...Earlier governments looted the people of the state."
  • Slamming the previous governments, the Prime Minister said, "If they had their way, they would have made Kanpur & other such areas in UP, a 'mafiaganj' mohalla. Now their 'mafiagiri' is counting its last breath. These 'parivaarvadi' want to give power to these mafias again. UP public will have to stay alert."
  • Aiming at the Muslim population, PM Modi said that the Muslim girls feel safe under the BJP rule in Uttar Pradesh. Many more Muslim girls are going to schools and colleges in the state now. PM Modi said that Muslim women voters are coming out of their homes to vote for Modi peacefully as they want to bless me.
  • PM Modi further said that before 2017, UP had ration scams every other day. They made lakhs of fake ration cards. Double engine govt ended this fake ration card scheme. Today, crores of the UP public are receiving ration free of cost. Stoves of my poor sisters and mothers will never be turned off.
