Telangana Elections: 'CPI, TJS should come out of Congress-led grand alliance, join BLF', says CPI (M)

The CPI (M) which is contesting the election under the umbrella of the Bahujan Left front (BLF) said that the policies of TJS and CPI differ greatly with those of Congress and TDP.

New Delhi: The CPI (M) in Telangana has said that the Telugu Desam Party and the Communist Party of India (CPI) should walk out of the proposed Congress led grand alliance to counter the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi and should instead join hands with the Bahujan Left Front to contest the polls. The CPI (M) which is contesting the election under the umbrella of the Bahujan Left front (BLF) said that the policies of TJS and CPI differ greatly with those of Congress and TDP. CPI(M) state unit secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram said while interacting with media persons: “There are no similarities between the policies of TJS and CPI and those of Congress and TDP. There is no point in TJS and CPI going along with the grand alliance. They should better rethink and come and join us ,” he said. “We request CPI and Kodandaram sir to join us...we can work together for the progress of Telangana,” he said. Congress, TDP, and CPI had announced the formation of a pre-poll grand alliance last month. Later the Telangana Jana Samithi led by M Kodandaram and various other smaller parties showed interest in joining the grand alliance. However, the arrangement has not been formalised yet. The Telangana Assembly Election 2018 will take place in single phase on December 7.  Counting of votes would be taken up on December 11. The ruling party TRS led by caretaker CM KCR  will be facing the Bahujan Left Front, BJP and the Congress led grand alliance of TJS, TDP and CPI . This time, the BJP is contesting alone in  the Telangana elections.
