BJP Not In Race, Supporting KCR Govt Internally: Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge Ahead Of Telangana Polls

Kharge, speaking at a poll rally in Quthbullapur, also mentioned strong polling in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, and that information regarding the Congress winning both states has been received.

AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge stated on Friday that the BJP is not running in the Telangana Assembly elections, despite allegations of a plan to destroy his party, with the BJP tacitly helping the governing BRS, news agency PTI reported. Kharge, speaking at an election rally in Quthbullapur, also mentioned strong polling in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, and that information regarding the Congress winning both states has been received. He said that the BJP and the BRS, led by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, are "fighting the elections together."

In an apparent reference to AIMIM, he stated that "another associate" backs the BRS.

Despite alleging a conspiracy to derail the Congress, he stated that his party will not be intimidated.

"The BJP is not in the race in Telangana. It is not to be seen anywhere, but it is supporting the KCR government internally. It means that the BJP and KCR are fighting the elections together in Telangana. Along with that, another associate is supporting KCR," he was quoted by PTI in its report.

"You can see how much conspiracy is going on to defeat the Congress," he said.

He further claimed a "secret alliance" between BRS, BJP and RSS.

"The BRS, RSS and BJP have a secret alliance. If you vote for them, then you will go towards slavery. If you vote for the Congress, the government of poor will come," he said.

He accused the Modi administration of misusing investigating agencies against Congress leaders and stated that no action had been taken against the BRS despite the claims in the Delhi excise policy issue.

"Modi saab uses CBI, IT and ED against Congress people everywhere. Using the law, he demoralises Congress workers and leaders and tries to weaken them. I ask, why the scam of BRS people done in collusion with the Kejriwal government in Delhi is not coming to the notice of Modi ji," he said.

Kharge questioned why the Centre is not prosecuting BRS leaders for "corruption" in the Kaleswaram project and others in Telangana because PM Modi is aware of the "corruption."

He alleged that no action is being taken against BRS leaders and that the purpose is to destroy the Congress while the BJP and BRS remain together.

The BJP and RSS claim that the Congress insulted B R Ambedkar, while Ambedkar claims that the authority to choose the people's destiny was handed to him by appointing him chairman of the Constituent Assembly.

Kharge further said that Telangana, which was a surplus state before the bifurcation of undivided Andhra Pradesh, is now in debt.

He emphasised the Congress' six election 'guarantees' and pledged that they would be implemented if his party won power in Telangana in the November 30 Assembly elections.

"We will fulfil our promises and we will not betray," he added.
