Rajasthan election: BJP releases 1st list of candidates; several new faces added

State Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria will be contesting from Udaipur, Rajendra Rathore from Churu, Ashok Parinami from Adarsh Nagar, Arun Chaturvedi from Civil Lines, Vasudev Devnani from North Amrez, Atul Bhansali from Jodhpur, Siddhikumari from Bekaner East.

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janta Party on Sunday released its first list of 131 out of 200 candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan. Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje is set to contest the election from her Jhalrapatan seat. The names were released by senior party leader JP Nadda after a meeting with BJP central election committee. Senior party leaders including PM Modi, Amit Shah and Raje were present in the meeting. The party has also given a Vidhan Sabha ticket to its Lok Sabha MP Sona Ram Chaudhury and has given tickets to 12 women. As per Nadda, the party has disseminated tickets to 25 new faces. As per BJP sources, 85 present MLAs have been given space in first phase. State Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria will be contesting from Udaipur, Rajendra Rathore from Churu, Ashok Parinami from Adarsh Nagar, Arun Chaturvedi from Civil Lines, Vasudev Devnani from North Amrez, Atul Bhansali from Jodhpur, Siddhikumari from Bekaner East. The party however did not give ticket to Banwari lal from Alwar. Also, Nagaur’s current MLA has not been given the ticket by the party and some other MLA has been given a ticket in his place. Speaking to media, Nadda said “The candidates whose names were discussed in the meeting were present in the meeting.” “The names of remaining candidates will be soon released” he added.
