Unemployment Tops List Of Rajasthan Voters' Concerns Prior To Elections, Know Findings Of ABP-CVoter Snap Poll

According to an ABP-CVoter Snap Poll, unemployment has taken the lead as the most pressing concern, with 34.3% of respondents concerned about joblessness.

As the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly polls draw nearer, the focal concerns of voters in the state have come into focus. According to a recent ABP-CVoter Snap Poll survey of 2,258 respondents, unemployment stands out as the most critical issue, dominating the list of voter priorities.

Unemployment has taken the lead as the paramount concern, with a substantial 34.3% of respondents expressing their apprehension about joblessness. Following closely behind, concerns about farmers' issues have secured the attention of 17.2% of the surveyed populace, reflecting the agrarian challenges that are top of mind for many.

A cluster of issues related to essential infrastructure—electricity, water, and roads—has emerged as the third most prominent concern, with 13.9% of respondents calling for improvements in these fundamental services. Corruption, an enduring issue in many regions, attracted the concern of 12.4% of respondents, signifying its enduring significance in the upcoming elections.

Furthermore, the issue of law and order, particularly with a focus on women's security, is of considerable concern to 7.6% of those surveyed, underlining the ongoing national conversation about the safety and protection of women.

Inflation, though registering as a concern for 6.9% of respondents, holds a relatively moderate position in the hierarchy of priorities. Meanwhile, the overall development of the state is a primary issue for 3.4% of those surveyed.

Additionally, 4.3% of respondents raised other unspecified issues, highlighting the diverse range of concerns that may impact the upcoming elections. Unemployment clearly dominates as the most significant issue, and political parties are likely to center their campaigns on addressing this concern as they vie for voter support.

As Rajasthan approaches the crucial assembly polls, anti-incumbency remains a significant factor, which may potentially favor the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Historically, Rajasthan voters have alternated their support between the Congress and the BJP in each assembly election. The Congress government has been making concerted efforts to counter the anti-incumbency sentiment by introducing new welfare schemes aimed at improving residents' lives. While these efforts are ongoing, they, along with other critical factors, will play a substantial role in influencing voter choices and determining the outcome of the Rajasthan Assembly elections.

Both major parties, the Congress and the BJP, face internal challenges driven primarily by factionalism. Within the Congress, the power struggle between leaders Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot has weakened the party's cohesion. On the BJP side, former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and her supporters wield considerable influence, making internal dynamics a critical concern for the party.

The margin of error is +/- 3% at the macro level and +/- 5% at the micro level. We believe this will give the closest possible resemblance to the trends.]
