'Those Who Voted For Cong Regretting': PM Attacks Oppn In Kurukshetra, Says 'BJP To Score Hat-Trick In Haryana'

PM Modi urged people to vote for the BJP during an election rally in Haryana's Kurukshetra. He also claimed that those who voted for the Congress in other states were regretting.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed a rally in Haryana's Kurukshetra in view of the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. During the rally, he urged people to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party to help it secure another victory and form a government again in the state. He also expressed confidence that the BJP would score a hat-trick in Haryana.

"I urge you all (people of Kurukshetra) to help BJP form a government again (in Haryana). You helped me to serve you all for the third consecutive time in Delhi, and looking at the excitement and enthusiasm here, it is clear that Haryana has decided for BJP's hattrick this time," PM Modi said as he called on people to vote while drawing parallels with the party's successive wins in Delhi.

The Prime Minister also said that the newly-elected government is yet to complete 100 days but has already begun projects amounting to Rs 15 lakh-crore. He also added that an additional 11 lakh women had become 'lakhpati didis'.

"BJP does what it says. During the campaigning for Lok Sabha elections, I promised to take big decisions for farmers, poor, youth and women in the first 100 days of the BJP government. It's not even 100 days but our government has started projects worth Rs 15 lakh crore," he added.

"In the last few years, Haryana has reached among the top states of the country in terms of investment and income. I am proud of this. We have seen the period of Congress government when the development money was limited to only one district. Every child of Haryana knows in whose pockets that money went. BJP has connected the whole of Haryana with the development."

Furthermore, the PM spoke about the universal health coverage for all senior citizens aged 70 and above under the extended Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY). "2 days ago, we have taken a very big decision which will benefit lakhs of families in Haryana. The BJP government has decided that all the elderly above the age of 70 will get free treatment of Rs 5 lakh," he said.

'Those Who Gave Congress Second Chance Are Regretting': PM Modi

PM Modi trained guns at the Congress-led government in Himachal Pradesh claiming that nobody was happy with the party's governance in the state.

"Himachal Pradesh is in your neighbourhood. Two years ago, the Congress government was formed there. But what is the situation there today? No citizen of Himachal is happy today. Congress fed lies to every section there but none of the promises made were fulfilled. Today, government employees are forced to go on strike there for their salary. Even the Chief Minister and Ministers have to pretend to give up their salary. There, Congress had promised to give Rs 1500 to women and thousands of women are still waiting for this money. In Himachal, Congress has made electricity, water, petrol, diesel, milk, everything expensive...There is no other party in the country more dishonest and deceitful than Congress," he said.

He also attacked the party for "ruining good states" as he flagged inflation and corruption in Karnataka and Telangana. He also said that the party did not provide MSP on crops in these states.

"Those who gave Congress a chance in their states are regretting it. Congress' lies have not spared even Karnataka and Telangana. There is a lot of chaos in Karnataka. Inflation and corruption are at their peak there. Development work has come to a standstill. After the Congress govt came to power, both investment and jobs have been reduced. Congress is showing how good states can be ruined," he said.

PM Modi also took a veiled swipe at the Aam Aadmi Party-led government in Punjab, saying that their policy is to "win elections and empty the treasury".

He stated: "There is a 'Kattar Beimaan Party', this party also has only one policy - to win elections and empty the treasury. You see the condition of Punjab, what they have done. The people of Haryana should not let such parties come near them... I want to challenge that if Congress has the courage, then why doesn't it implement its farmer schemes in Karnataka and Telangana? Show it by doing it somewhere."

Haryana Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on 5 October. The votes will be counted on October 8.
