They Will Try To Divide Women Now: PM Modi Tells MP Voters As Congress Seeks OBC Quota In Reservation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi came heavily on Congress and said that the grand old party supported the women's reservation bill in Parliament under pressure.

MP Elections 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched a series of attacks on the Congress party while addressing BJP workers in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Slamming the previous Congress governments for "not working" for women, the PM said that he would not have to bring the Women's Reservation Bill had the grand old party taken the step on time. Hinting at Congress's demand for an OBC quota in women's reservations, he said that the rival party will try to divide women of the country.

"Cong and allies backed women's reservation bill on compulsion. Its passage possible as 'Modi hai to Mumkin ha'," he said, adding that Congress is scared of women's power.

"Nari Shati Vandan Adhiniyam' (Women's Reservation Bill) created a new history in the country. Women of the country waited for several decades, and it was also said that it might never be done. But there is guarantee for every every guarantee getting fulfilled when there is Modi. However, I want to caution the women of India, the Congress and its new 'ghamandiya' alliance supported this Bill half-heartedly and reluctantly," the Prime Minister said.

Mentioning alleged dishonour to President Droupadi Murmu by Congress, the PM intensified his attack and said, "These (Congress) are the same people who tried their best to stop the country's first tribal woman President Droupadi Murmu from becoming the President. These are the same people who have repeatedly tried to humiliate her. These people are the same people who had stopped the entry of daughters in the front lines of the country's armed forces."

The Prime Minister was addressing the 'Karyakarta Mahakumbh' in MP's Bhopal marking the end of party's 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra'.

For Congress, Slums Are Video Shooting Locations, Means Of Adventure Tourism: PM Modi

In his jibe at Congress's decades-old 'Garibi Hatao' campaign, PM Modi asked if the party has been able to do so. He said that for Congress, slums are locations for shooting videos and adventure tourism. He said Congress has never been able to complete any of its promises and is to be blamed for every problem the state faced ever.

"...Poor's life doesn't matter for their (Congress) leaders, born with silver spoons in their mouth... For them, poor's life is adventure tourism... For Congress leaders poor persons' colonies has become location for video shootings... They have done this in the past too...
