MP Polls: BJP Approves Names Of 36 Candidates Including Imarti Devi. Vivek Sahu Fielded From Kamal Nath's Turf

Jyotiraditya Scindia's close aide Imarti Devi has been given ticket from Dabra assembly while Amrish Guddu has been given fielded against Congress Leader of Opposition Govind Singh.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has approved the names of 36 candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh during the second phase of the meeting of the party's central election committee. As per sources, the discussion was held for a total of 39 candidates out of which the names were approved for 36 of them. The CEC meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence minister Rajnath Singh. 

A decision on the names of the three candidates will be taken after deliberation with some leaders of the state. Home Minister Amit Shah has been given the responsibility of deciding the names of three candidates after discussion.

Among the prominent candidates that received a nod from the party’s top brass includes Vivek Sahu who will be fielded from MP Congress President Kamal Nath’s turf, Chhindwara Assembly constituency.

Raghuraj Kansana, considered to belong to Scindia camp, has been given ticket from Morena assembly seat.

Sources told ABP News that Amrish Guddu has been given a ticket from Lahar assembly of Bhind district against Congress Leader of Opposition Govind Singh. Jyotiraditya Scindia's close aide Imarti Devi has been given ticket from Dabra assembly of Gwalior district.

Kal Singh has been given a ticket from Thandla assembly seat of Jhabua, Manoj Patel from Depalpur in Indore district, Arvind Pateria from Rajnagar seat of Chhatarpur district, Brij Bihari Pateria from Deori seat of Sagar district, and Mohan Singh Rathore from Bhitarwar assembly seat of Gwalior district have got the party ticket, sources added. 

The party will soon announce the list of candidates for the election to 230 seats of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, due to take place this year along with Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram. 

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached poll-bound MP’s Bhopal where he  laid the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs. 50,700 crore including the ‘Petrochemical Complex' at Bina Refinery and ten new industrial projects across the state.
