Day After Modi's 'Pak Praying For Rahul Gandhi' Speech, Cong Shares PM's 'Jigri Dosti' Pics With Nawaz Sharif

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh shared pictures of PM Modi with former Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif and captioned the post "Jigri dosti".

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed during a rally in Gujarat's Anand that though Congress' influence in India might be dwindling, the leaders of Pakistan want him as their Prime minister, suggesting that the "partnership" between the grand old party and Pakistan has been exposed now. In response to this, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh shared pictures of PM Modi with former Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif and captioned the post "Jigri dosti".

The pictures are from 2015, when PM Modi made a surprise stopover in Lahore to wish former Pak PM Nawaz Sharif on his 66th birthday and to briefly attend his granddaughter's wedding. PM Modi was on his way back from Kabul after inaugurating Afghanistan's Parliament, which was a project initiated by India in 2007.

PM Modi Takes Swipe At Congress Over Fawad Chaudhary's Post

PM's dig at the Congress came in after Pakistani Foreign Minister Fawad Chaudhary praised the Raebareli candidate in a post he shared on X. In the video, Rahul Gandhi can be seen delivering a speech, and Chaudhary captioned the post: "Rahul on fire".

PM Modi launched scathing attacks at Congress and Pakistan saying: "Look at the coincidence, today Congress is getting weak in India. The funny thing is that here Congress is dying and there Pakistan is crying. Now Pakistani leaders are praying for Congress. Pakistan is eager to make the prince the Prime Minister."

The PM further said, “Congress is already a fan of Pakistan. This partnership between Pakistan and Congress has now been completely exposed”.

Accusing Congress of spreading lies, PM Modi called the party a "fake factory", asserting that under the party's governance the society was divided and there were two constituitions and flags in India due to Congress' negligence towards integrating Kashmir into India completely.

“The Constitution of India was not applicable in Kashmir. Article 370 was sitting like a wall. This son from Sardar Patel's land demolished Article 370 and paid tribute to Sardar Saheb,” he added.
