Mathura Lok Sabha Elections Results 2024: 'Jat Bahu' Hema Malini once again wins the Mathura seat with a major vote margin. Hema Malini, often referred to as Bollywood’s ‘dream girl’ has defeated Mukesh Dhangar of the Congress party with a margin of 2,93,407 votes. BJP's Hema Malini secured 5,10,064 votes, while Mukesh Dhangar of INC got 2,16,657 votes, and Suresh Singh of BSP got 1,88,417 votes. Earlier, In the 2019 and 2014 elections, Hema Malini won the seat, highlighting her significant influence and popularity in the Mathura constituency.

Hema Malini started her political career in 1999. She participated in the election campaign of fellow actor Vinod Khanna, a BJP contender for Punjab's Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat. She is a qualified Bharatnatyam dancer and was awarded the Padma Shri in 2000.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Hema Malini of the BJP emerged as a winner in the Mathura constituency, securing 671,293 votes. Her closest competitor, was Kunwar Narendra Singh of the RLD who received 377,822 votes. Hema Malini won with a substantial margin of 293,471 votes, reinforcing her strong political presence in the region.

Similarly, in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Hema Malini also achieved a decisive victory in Mathura. She defeated RLD candidate Jayant Chaudhary by a margin of 330,743 votes. Hema Malini secured 574,633 votes, while Jayant Chaudhary secured 243,890 votes. This consistent success highlights Hema Malini's significant influence and popularity in the Mathura constituency.

According to the Census 2011 data, Mathura district in Uttar Pradesh had a total population of 2,547,184. Out of this, 1,367,125 are males and 1,180,059 are females. The religious composition of the district was predominantly Hindu, with Hindus making up 90.72% of the population. Muslims comprised 8.52% of the population, while other religious communities accounted for the remaining percentage.
