Nandigram Election Result: Mamata Banerjee Defeats Suvendu Adhikari By 1,200 Votes In Nail-Biting Contest

With the TMC's victory imminent in West Bengal, congratulations poured in for party president and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Nandigram: After a day-long nail-biting electoral contest, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has defeated her former protege-turned-BJP rival Suvendu Adhikari from Nandigram constituency. 

As per reports, Mamata defeated Suvendu by a narrow margin of 1,200 votes.

It all started after Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo decided to contest elections from Nandigram leaving her home turf Bhabanipur seat this time to test her fate in 2021 Bengal Elections.

In the initial round of counting in Nandigram, Banerjee trailed Adhikar, but after the fourth round of counting, Banerjee was behind her one-time aide by a margin of 3,710 votes.

However, in 18th and las round of counting, Banerjee scraped past Adhikari and managed a 1,200-vote lead to clinch a victory.
