Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole’s helicopter and bags were checked at Tiroda helipad while he was going to campaign for an NCP-SCP candidate in Goregaon Assembly constituency.

Maharashtra Assembly Elections: The election officials in the poll-bound state of Maharashtra have been conducting regular checks of leaders' bags across various helipads in the state as the voting date nears. The recent addition to the list of leaders whose bags were checked is Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole.

Patole's chopper and bags were checked by the poll officials at the Tiroda helipad while he was on his way for campaigning for an NCP-SP candidate in Goregaon Assembly constituency.

As the row over bag-checking continues in the state, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray's bags were scanned for the third time in a week on Thursday. The latest incident took place in Shrigonda, Ahmednagar.

On Tuesday, the former Chief Minister's bags were checked in Latur, where he had arrived to campaign for the upcoming polls. A day before this, his bags were checked after his helicopter landed in Yavatmal. Thackeray, who seemed displeased by the repeated checks, was heard asking the officials if they had also checked PM Modi and Amit Shah's bags as well.

Besides, Thackeray, other leaders whose bags underwent a checking by the poll authorities include Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, his Deputies - Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. Shinde's bags were checked on Wednesday after he arrived in Palgarh for campaigning.

The Maharashtra Assembly elections will be held on November 20 and the counting of votes is scheduled to held on November 23.
