Lok Sabha Results 2024: Which States Are Flipping After Three Hours Of ECI Trends

Lok Sabha Elections Results: As per early trends in the polls, the NDA bloc was leading on 299 seats followed by I.N.D.I.A bloc with 221 seats.

Lok Sabha Elections Results: As the counting of votes got underway in the Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday, a fierce battle has been witnessed between the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA and the opposition bloc I.N.D.I.A. As per early trends, the NDA bloc was leading on 299 seats followed by I.N.D.I.A bloc with 221 seats.

According to the trends projected by the Election Commission, big surprises have unfolded in several states as they witnessed a flip in the mandate.

Lok Sabha Results: Here Are States WItnessing A Turnaround 

1) Uttar Pradesh: In Uttar Pradesh, a big surprise unfolded for the BJP led-NDA bloc as it was seen neck and neck with the I.N.D.I.A bloc, as per EC trends. In the 2019 LS polls, the saffron party bagged more than 60 seats. According to the latest trends, the I.N.D.I.A bloc is leading with 40 seats in the state followed by the BJP with 37 seats.

2) Maharashtra: Maharashtra was another BJP ruled state which has witnessed a flip in the mandate, as per the EC trends. In Maharashtra, the I.N.D.I.A bloc was leading with 29 seats, followed by the NDA bloc with 18 seats. In the 2019, polls, the NDA bagged more than 40 out of 48 seats. 

3) Rajasthan: As far as Rajasthan is concerned, where the BJP registered a strong mandate recently in the assembly polls, the Congress-led I.N.D.I.A bloc was seen giving a tough fight to the BJP. It comes as a shock for the BJP as it bagged 24 out of 25 seats in 2019 general polls in the desert state.

The counting of votes began at 8 AM on Tuesday. The Lok Sabha elections were held in seven phases across the country from April 19 to June 1. 

In Delhi, the saffron party was leading on six seats, while the Congress was ahead on one seat in, as per the EC trends. As counting of votes began, BJP leaders expressed confidence of a clean sweep, while AAP leaders said they were positive about the results.

BJP candidate from Chandi Chowk Praveen Khandelwal said, "I am fully confident that we are winning all seven seats of Delhi. We will win with a huge margin. We will celebrate with vigour after winning. My family is also very enthusiastic about the results as it is the first time for them to witness this," as quoted by news agency PTI.

Praying for her victory, BJP candidate from New Delhi seat, Bansuri Swaraj, offered payers at Lakshmi Narayan temple in Gole Market. "I have come here to take the blessings of Lord Lakshmi Narayan. I have immense faith that today India's citizens will select BJP's public welfare policies and PM Modi's Viksit Bharat vision. I want the Modi 'sarkar' for the third time," she said.
