Sanjay Raut, the party's leader, spoke to the media shortly after announcing the first list. Raut stated, "Today we announced the names of our candidates for 17 Lok Sabha seats. We will compete for 22 seats".

In response to the party's announcement of candidates for Sangli and North West Mumbai, Raut stated, "There is no dispute regarding the seats on which Shiv Sena has announced the names of its candidates." All of these decisions were made following the MVA meeting. We talked to Prakash Ambedkar yesterday as well. It's going on today too. We have offered him five seats, and discussions about seat sharing in MVA have been completed".

On Enforcement Directorate summons to Shiv Sena UBT leader Amol Kirtikar, Sanjay Raut remarked, "The moment his name was announced as a Lok Sabha election candidate, he got a summons from ED. This is only an attempt to scare, but we won't be scared".

Top Highlights From The First List:

Anil Desai to contest from South Central against Rahul Shewale.

Amol Kirtikar has been fielded North West, facing his father who's in the Congress faction. It is to be noted that he got the ticket from where Sanjay Nirupam had been pushing to get one.

Rajan Vichare fielded again from Thane city, maintaining the stronghold.

Vinayak Raut set to contest Sindhudurg Ratnagiri, challenging Narayan Rane's stronghold.

Chandrakant Khaire secured the ticket for Sambhajinagar, opposing Intiaz Jalil of AIMIM.

Voting in Maharashtra, which has 48 Lok Sabha seats — second highest after Uttar Pradesh (80) — will be held in five phases starting from April 19. The subsequent phases will be held on April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20 and votes will be counted on June 4.

NCP Yet To Announce Candidates

Another Maha Vikas Aghadi ally,  NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) is yet to officially declare its candidates for the Lok Sabha polls. Amid eluding consensus amogn the MVA allies, the NCP(SP) leader Sharad Pawar met Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray at his residence in Mumbai on Sunday.

The party would need to expedite the process of selecting candidates as the last date for filing nominations for the first phase of voting, scheduled to be held on April 19, is March 27.

Prakash Ambedkar To Announce Next Move

After snapping ties with the MVA, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi chief Prakash Ambedkar said he would declare his next move on Tuesday, today. On Saturday, the VBA chief, grandson of Dr B R Ambedkar, said that his party has severed a year-long tie with the MVA claiming that the internal strife in MVA allies doesn't seem to end.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) termed the decision as "unfortuante" and "one-sided". "Ambedkar should have discussed with Thackeray before making such an announcement. It is one-sided and unfortunate," said Sanjay Raut adding that he should reconsider the decision.

Both the parties had announced an alliance in January last year.
