The fourth phase of polling for Lok Sabha Elections is taking place across 10 States/UTs, engaging 96 Parliamentary Constituencies besides all 175 seats of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and 28 seats of the Odisha Legislative Assembly. To augment voter turnout, polling time extensions are granted in specific assembly segments of 17 Parliamentary Constituencies in Telangana.
Over 17.7 crore voters are expected to exercise their franchise across 1.92 lakh polling stations in this phase.
Special provisions cater to elderly and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) voters, including home voting options. Vigilance measures entail the deployment of Observers and surveillance teams to uphold electoral integrity.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) highlights the substantial number of registered 85+ years old and PwD voters, totaling over 12.49 lakh and 19.99 lakh, respectively, who are facilitated with the option to vote from home.
In its efforts to combat inducement tactics, the ECI has mobilised 4661 Flying Squads, 4438 Static Surveillance Teams, 1710 Video Surveillance Teams, and 934 Video Viewing Teams to monitor and swiftly address any irregularities.
The culmination of the electoral process, marked by the counting of votes for all phases scheduled on June 4, will unveil the Union leadership for the next five years.
Phase 4 of Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal witnesses intense contests across eight constituencies, featuring prominent candidates from various political parties. Notable contenders include Congress' Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, TMC's Shatrughan Sinha, Mahua Moitra, and Yusuf Pathan, and BJP's S S Ahluwalia and Dilip Ghosh.
Critical issues range from migrant labor concerns to drinking water supply and industrial decline, with the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) notification fueling debates.
With 1,45,30,017 eligible voters, including 71,45,379 women and 282 third-gender electors across 15,507 polling stations, security measures are heightened with 152 companies of central forces deployed.
Thirteen parliamentary constituencies in Uttar Pradesh become the focal point in Phase 4, featuring high-profile contests in Kannauj and Kheri. Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav contests from Kannauj, while Union Minister of State for Home, Ajay Mishra Teni, vies for victory in Kheri.
Prominent battles include Kannauj witnessing a face-off between Akhilesh Yadav and BJP's Subrat Pathak, and Unnao pitting BJP's Sakshi Maharaj against SP's Annu Tandon.
Eleven constituencies in Maharashtra witness polling, with key figures like Union Minister Raosaheb Danve, BJP leader Pankaja Munde, and actor-turned-politician Amol Kolhe in contention.
Over 2.28 crore voters will decide the fate of 298 candidates across central Marathwada, northern, and western regions.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh gears up to elect its 175-member Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats, featuring notable contenders like AP Congress president YS Sharmila and BJP state chief Purandeswari.
A substantial security contingent of 1.06 lakh personnel ensures smooth conduct across the state, as 4.14 crore voters prepare to cast their ballots.
The YSRCP and NDA highlight contrasting agendas, promising developmental initiatives, and welfare measures.
Bihar witnesses across five constituencies, with intense battles anticipated in Begusarai, Ujiyarpur, Munger, Darbhanga, and Madhubani.
Notable contests include Giriraj Singh versus CPI's Awadhesh Rai in Begusarai, and Union Minister Nityanand Rai against RJD's Alok Mehta in Ujiyarpur.

Lok Sabha Elections Phase 4 Voting Live: Telangana Records 61.54 % Voter Turnout
A voter turnout of 61.54 per cent was registered in the election to 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana on Monday, which went off peacefully.
The polling was held from 7 AM to 6 PM, except Left Wing Extremism-affected constituencies where the process concluded by 4 PM.
The polling process in Telangana was peaceful, DGP Ravi Gupta said in a release.
Notably, polling in Naxal-affected areas concluded without any incident by 4 pm, he said.
State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj said the response from voters was good.
"We have got very good response right from morning. Weather was also supportive. So we had good turnout. There was no problem on law order side also," Vikas Raj told reporters. (PTI Input)
