'Won't Have To Return To Jail If You Vote For Jhadu': AAP Chief Kejriwal Tells Delhi Voters — WATCH
Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal appealed for votes, claiming his jail return would hinder public welfare schemes. He accused the BJP of orchestrating his imprisonment.
Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, addressing a crowd during a roadshow in Delhi on Sunday, made a plea to the electorate, asserting that a vote for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would prevent his return to jail. The event, held in Moti Nagar, witnessed the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, as they rallied in support of Somnath Bharti, AAP's candidate for the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat. Another roadshow was held in Uttam Nagar to bolster the campaign for Mahabal Mishra, AAP's candidate for West Delhi.
"I have to go back to jail after 20 days. If you choose jhadu (AAP's symbol broom), I won't have to go back to jail," Kejriwal remarked, addressing the attendees in Moti Nagar.
मैं 20 दिनों के लिए बाहर आया हूं, लेकिन अगर आपने झाड़ू का बटन ज़ोर से दबा दिया तो मुझे वापस जेल नहीं जाना पड़ेगा।

Kejriwal, currently out on interim bail until June 1 with a looming surrender date of June 2, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating his incarceration, alleging that his imprisonment was a consequence of his dedication to public service. "They sent me to jail because I worked for you. The BJP does not want that the work of Delhi people is done," he said.
The Delhi Chief Minister further divulged details of his time behind bars, alleging a deliberate halt in his insulin injections during his incarceration at Tihar jail. "My insulin injections were stopped for 15 days inside Tihar jail," he claimed terming it a dictatorial move.

'If I Went Back To Jail, The BJP Would Stop Your Work': CM Kejriwal Tells Delhi Voters
Warning against the potential repercussions of his return to confinement, Kejriwal cautioned that it would spell doom for the welfare schemes initiated by his government. "If I went back to jail, the BJP would stop your work, free electricity, degrade schools and shut down hospitals and Mohalla Clinics," he cautioned.
Kejriwal, alongside his rallying cries, endorsed Somnath Bharti for the New Delhi constituency, vowing his unwavering availability for public service, even during unconventional hours.
In West Delhi, amidst another fervent crowd, Kejriwal invoked a divine narrative, ascribing his release from jail to a higher purpose. "People are saying that God has brought him out of jail to defeat the BJP. There is dictatorship in the country. We have to end this dictatorship," he declared, as quoted by news agency PTI.
Delhi will witness polling for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 on May 25.
