'Kejriwal Icon Of Corruption', 'End Of Reign Of Allies': BJP Leaders On Historic Comeback In Delhi

As the BJP headed for a big win in the Delhi, PM Modi said people's power is supreme and asserted that his party will leave no stone unturned for the city's all-round development.

The leaders from the ruling BJP expressed happiness over the party's landslide victory and lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership for the party's historic victory in the Delhi assembly polls.

The BJP on Saturday received 48 seats, while AAP fell back to 22 seats. Top AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, and Avadh Ojha lost their seats. The BJP came back to power for the first time after losing power in 1998 to the Congress, which ruled the national capital for the next three terms.

As the BJP headed for a big win in the Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said people's power is supreme and asserted that his party will leave no stone unturned for the city's all-round development and making the lives of its residents better. 

Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah hailed the result as the beginning of a new era of development and an end to the reign of lies, deceit and corruption.

"The double-engine government will take the pace of development in Delhi to a new high," he said in a post on X. In a series of posts on X, Shah, who is credited for shaping the details of the party's poll strategy, said Delhi would become an ideal capital under Modi's leadership. "The BJP is determined to fulfil all its promises and make Delhi the number one capital of the world," he added.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that BJP's landslide victory in Delhi is a victory of faith in the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and the policies of the BJP.

Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the victory in Delhi elections was a stamp of approval on the policies of all-round development pursued by PM Modi. "This is a victory of development and good governance," Gadkari said.

Parvesh Verma, BJP's winning candidate from New Delhi seat, credited the victory in capital to Prime Minister Modi and said that the party has many challenges in the future.

"Delhi's people have given a huge mandate to the BJP. We will respect it and I congratulate the people of Delhi from the bottom of my heart... The credit for this victory goes to Prime Minister Modi... We have many challenges ahead of us," Verma said.

BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that the people in Delhi not only defeated Kejriwal but also punished him for the fraud he committed in Delhi.

"Just like Maha Kumbh came after 144 years, similarly BJP came to power after 27 years and Delhi got a big relief from AAP-da... Delhi's people not only defeated Arvind Kejriwal, but also punished him for the fraud he committed with Delhi... A lot of scams done by him will be uncovered now," the BJP winning candidate from Rajouri Garden said.

BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj said that the people of Delhi have expressed their faith in PM Modi's guarantee and model of development.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the people of Delhi showed they will not tolerate politics of falsehood any more and called Kejriwal an icon of corruption. "I am happy that after a gap of 27 years, the BJP has been re-elected in Delhi. People of Delhi proved that they won't tolerate politics of falsehood. They voted for the BJP by keeping faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modiji's vision. Arvind Kejriwal is an icon of corruption," Fadnavis said.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath said that the voters have once again handed the Congress, which falsely claimed that the Constitution and elections are all in crises, a complete defeat. Their lie has been defeated and the voters have fully supported the truth, Shinde added.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the people of Delhi have put an end to the politics of lies and theatrics pursued by the AAP. "Farmers in the national capital were tired of the 'AAP-da' government. Now the farmers will benefit from the policies of the Central government," Chouhan said.

Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar also congratulated Modi, Shah and BJP chief J P Nadda for BJP's success in Delhi polls. 

BJP allies JD(U) also lauded BJP's mega win in Delhi with party's national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad saying that people have fully rejected the misgovernance of AAP.

Meanwhile, TDP leader and Union minister K Rammohan Naidu said BJP's massive mandate reflected the people's trust in a responsible and accountable government that is committed to delivering on its promises.

"With a double-engine Sarkar in state and Centre, the capital region is set to soar to new heights of prosperity and growth. Together, the NDA government will fulfil the aspirations of every Delhiite and build a stronger, brighter future for our great city," Naidu said.

Union Minister Chirag Paswan said that the said that the people of Delhi have trusted Modi's guarantee. 

"First of all, I will thank Prime Minister Modi because this is the victory of his vision and people's faith in him. This is Modi's guarantee on which the people of Delhi have trusted again after a long time... The people of Delhi have chosen the government of Prime Minister Modi's vision," Paswan said.
