ABP News-CVoter Opinion Poll: NDA Projected To Witness Clean Sweep In Karnataka
In Karnataka, NDA is working to replicate its success from 2019 while Congress, which currently governs the state, is making concerted efforts to secure a substantial lead and bolster I.N.D.I.A bloc.
According to ABP News-CVoter Opinion Poll data, NDA could get 23 seats while I.N.D.I.A bloc might bag 5 seats. In terms of the vote share, NDA is expected to gain 53% while I.N.D.I.A bloc is likely to get 42%.
In 2019, the INC-JD(S) alliance secured only two seats, whereas the BJP-led NDA emerged victorious in 26 seats during the elections. The NDA is now striving to replicate its success from 2019, while the Congress, which currently holds the state government, is exerting all efforts to secure a lead and contribute to the I.N.D.I.A bloc.
In Karnataka, NDA has established an alliance with former PM HD Deve Gowda-led Janata Dal (Secular) for the upcoming polls. However, till now, there have been no announcements regarding the seat-sharing talks or the candidates.
Further, PM Modi is expected to give back-to-back addresses sounding the poll bugle for BJP in Karnataka from March 15-19. Among the southern states, Karnataka is one of the states where the BJP has high stakes. On March 15, PM will address the party workers in Devanhalli followed by his public address in Shivamogga on March 17, Hubballi-Dharwad (March 18) and Kalaburagi (March 19).
On the other hand, Congress has announced seven candidates for Lok Sabha Elections. The seven candidates include H R Algur (Bijapur), Geetha Shivarajkumar (Shimoga), DK Suresh (Bengaluru Rural), Anandaswamy Gaddadevara Math (Haveri), M Shreyas Patel (Hassan), S P Muddahanumegowda (Tumkur) and Venkataramegowda (Mandya).
In recent times, political parties have engaged in criticisms surrounding issues such as the Rameshwaram cafe blast, pro-Pakistan slogans, and Bengaluru water crisis. Following the March 1 blast at Bengaluru’s Rameshwaram Café, which resulted in the injury of 10 people, BJP has criticized the ruling Congress government, labeling it as a failure in maintaining law and order.
