Kanhaiya Kumar Accuses BJP Rival Manoj Tiwari Of Orchestrating Attack, Says 'People Not Accepting Him'
Kumar's remarks against his BJP rival came after the AAP office in the New Usmanour area. The incident occurred as he was leaving a party meeting with local Councillor Chhaya Sharma.
Kanhaiya Kumar, I.N.D.I.A bloc's candidate for North East Delhi in the Lok Sabha elections, alleged on Saturday that sitting MP Manoj Tiwari carried out an attack on him due to his declining acceptance among the constituency's residents. Kumar's remarks against his BJP rival came after the AAP office in the New Usmanour area. The incident occurred as he was leaving a party meeting with local Councillor Chhaya Sharma.
Speaking at a press conference, Kumar accused Tiwari of spreading false rumours and doctored videos to instigate people against him. "Instead of showing his work, ever since I was nominated as the candidate for northeast Delhi, the MP (Tiwari) is continuously lying, circulating doctored videos, and trying to instigate the common people," Kumar stated.
He further alleged that Tiwari failed to instigate significant projects in the constituency during his tenure.
"I feel that somewhere he has started to believe that perhaps the people of the constituency are not accepting him. That is why instead of answering the questions we are raising on behalf of the people of North East Delhi, he is carrying out such attacks," Kumar claimed.
Despite the alleged attack, Kumar reassured his supporters, stating, "Manoj Tiwari is the richest candidate and I am the poorest. We do not have money, but we have courage".
Kumar urged voters to not be misled by "distractions".
"I request everyone that this is their last weapon. They will mislead the common people so that people's attention is diverted from the poll issues. But you shouldn't divert your attention," he stated.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor accused Kumar of promoting divisive ideology and stated that the youth of North East Delhi rejected such anti-national sentiments.
"Kumar is a symbol of the divisive 'tukde-tukde' thought throughout the country, and wherever he goes, this divisive, anti-national image will go with him," he said.
Kumar had previously claimed that the attack on him was orchestrated by Tiwari, whom he accused of being frustrated with his rising popularity. Polling in the national capital is scheduled for May 25 in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections.
